Development and Developers
The Diogen Developer. The stock solution is prepared as follows: -
Dissolve in the order stated above, and filter the solution. It preserved in well-stoppered bottles, it will keep for a long time. For correctly exposed plates of normal character, take
Concentrated Diogen-solution (as above) ... 4 drams. Water ... ... ... ... ... ... 2 ozs. I dram.
Potassium bromide solution (1 :10) ... ... 2 drops.
In case of iinder-exposurey take
Concentrated Diogen-solution (as above)...... 4 dram.
Water ... ... ... ... ... ... 2 to 3 ozs.
In case of over-exposure, take
The Glycin Developer. Glycin tends to clearness and the ab-sence of fog or stain. Two solutions are prepared as follows: -
Distilled water............
... 20 ozs.
Sodium sulphite, cryst.
... 1 ..
Glycin
... 96 grs.
B.
Distilled water ...
10 ozs.
Potassium carbonate (pearlash)
... 2 ..
For correctly exposed plates, mix
Solution A
... 4 parts
Solution B
... 1 part.
If less contrast is required, take less of solution B; but to obtain very soft negatives, dilute the developer with water and reduce the proportion of B. For greater contrast, on the other
